Bayside Jewelry is the brainchild of artist Diane Pickette. Diane was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and also spent some time living in Seattle. She currently resides in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with her tech savvy and adoring husband David. Diane is also a super mama to two wonderful sons and a significant other in law to be. Diane is the adventuring type, and she enjoys spending time at her cabin on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille’s Garfield Bay in Northern Idaho. She also enjoys gardening, reading, hiking, kayaking, and biking.
Having lived her whole life in the Pacific Northwest Diane finds her inspiration in nature. She is particularly intrigued by the mountain side, crystal clear waters of the surrounding lakes, and forest filled landscapes. Diane is also an observer of local area wildlife, sunrises, and sunsets. As a lover of all things outdoors Diane is compelled to incorporate the beauty of nature in her jewelry design.
Jewelry design is a passion for Diane since she enjoys being able to express her artistic abilities into wearable art. She currently works with sterling silver, Swarovski crystals, and semi-precious gemstones. Diane’s jewelry collection is versatile in that she has both casual everyday wear as well as, elegant and formal pieces. Her work is also bold in that she uses a myriad of stunning Swarovski crystals and semi-precious gemstones in various colors. These vibrant colors paired with elegant sterling silver make her pieces stunning and contemporary.
Diane is also the owner and stylist of City Locks Hair Design in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; where Bayside Jewelry got its start. Her experience as a hairstylist and artist for over twenty-eight years placed her in a creative environment, in which she was able to connect with fellow locally based jewelry designers. At her salon she displays many of the Bayside Jewelry designs. After demand and interest in the Bayside Jewelry line increased Diane decided to take Bayside Jewelry online. With the help of her computer wiz husband David, and with the support of her fellow jewelry designers she recently unveiled the Bayside Jewelry online shop and website. Being able to take Bayside Jewelry from her salon based studio to the World Wide Web, has given her the opportunity to share the treasures of North Idaho artists with a much larger audience.
